Rethinking Our Worth

Well, it has been a while. Life has been so very busy, but I would like to pick up where I left off. On March 3, 2006 I was reading When Heaven Invades Earth by Bill Johnson. Bill wrote, "Apart from Christ, we are unworthy. And it's true that without Him we are nothing. But I am not without Him, and I never will be again! At what point do we start thinking of our worth through his eyes? If it's true that the value of something is measured by what someone else will pay, then we need to rethink our worth."..."Jesus paid the ultimate price to make it possible for us to have a change in our identity. Isn't it time to believe it and receive the benefits?"

Wow, was this ever timely! I am not without him, I am worthy, and I can change my identity (who I think I am). And so can you! If we could see ourselves (and others) through His eyes it would be incredible, I can not begin to comprehend the depth of His love.

In the Song of Songs the woman simply saw herself as her lover saw her. Her mirror was the face of her mate. How different our lives would be if we allowed Christ to be our mirror.

"Oh what an extravagant love the Father has bestowed on us!"
